Privacy Policy
What TickPDF collects, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have. The most important part comes first: your documents never leave your device.
Last updated: October 12, 2026
The short version
- Your documents are opened and changed in your browser. They are never uploaded, and we never see them.
- Our own statistics use no cookies and do not store your IP address.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
- If you buy a plan, we keep only what we need to run your account and for tax records.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
1. Who is responsible
TickPDF is run by Viswanadham Suresh, an individual based in India. For the purposes of data protection law, Viswanadham Suresh is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact: contact@tickpdf.com.
2. Your documents
PDFs, images and other files you open in the tools are read and processed by your own browser, on your own device. They are not sent to our servers or to anyone else. This includes text you type, signatures you draw and the words that OCR finds. We cannot see, copy or recover your documents.
To do the work in your browser, the tools download program code from our website, such as the OCR language files. This code runs on your device and sends nothing about your documents back.
3. What we collect
Usage statistics (no cookies)
To learn which tools people use and where they get stuck, the site records simple events, such as “opened Merge PDF”, “merged 3 files” or “downloaded”. Each event can include:
- the tool and the action, and settings such as the image quality chosen;
- numbers about the job, such as the page count, the file size and how long it took (never the file name or its contents);
- the page address, and the website you came from;
- your country and city, worked out from your IP address at the moment of the visit. The IP address itself is not stored;
- the type of device, operating system, browser and language;
- a visitor code made by scrambling your IP address and browser details with a secret that changes every day. It lets us count visitors for one day, but cannot be turned back into your IP address and cannot follow you from one day to the next.
These statistics are kept for 13 months and then deleted automatically. They do not use cookies or similar storage on your device.
Feedback and requests
If you use the feedback box or ask for a new tool, we keep the message you type, together with the usage event it belongs to. Please do not include personal details in it.
Free download counter
To apply the daily limit of the free plan, we count downloads against a scrambled code made from your IP address, browser and the date. The count is deleted after one day.
Account and payments
If you buy a plan, we keep your name, email address, a securely scrambled (hashed) password, your plan and when it renews. Payments are taken by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record, which collects your payment details under its own privacy policy. We never receive your full card number. Paddle sends us your email address, country, the plan you bought, the amount paid, tax details and reference numbers. If you buy without an account, we create one with that email address and send you a link to set your password.
Codes and team invitations
If you redeem a code, we keep the code, where it came from (for example the deal website), and when and on which account it was redeemed, so we can show your plan and handle refunds from the partner. If you own a team plan and invite someone, we keep the email address you typed until the invitation is accepted, cancelled or 14 days old, and we send that person one invitation email. When they join, we keep which team they belong to and when they joined. Only invite people who expect to hear from you.
Emails
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and see what happened before.
Server and security logs
Like every website, our web host and security services record technical logs, such as IP address, time, page requested and browser, to keep the site running and safe from attacks. These are kept for a short time, set by those services.
4. Storage on your device
The editor saves a few preferences in your browser’s own storage (local storage), such as signatures and stamps you saved and how you arranged the panels. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can delete them by clearing the site data in your browser settings.
So the tools work without internet, the site also keeps a copy of its own pages and program files in your browser, never your documents. If you are editing a document, the editor saves your work in progress in your browser too, so you can continue if the tab closes: it is never sent to us, and it is deleted when you download the file, after 24 hours, or when you click Clear. If you use the tools without internet, the usage counts described above wait in your browser until you are online again; then they are sent and removed.
We do not set our own cookies for statistics or ads. When you sign in to an account, the website sets a login cookie, which is needed to keep you signed in.
5. Services we use
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site. Each receives only what it needs:
- Web hosting and content delivery, to serve the website and protect it from attacks. They process your IP address and request details.
- Payment provider, named at checkout, to take payments, handle tax and send receipts.
- Email provider, to send and receive emails.
- Google Fonts, if the site loads its fonts from Google. Your browser then asks Google’s servers for the font files, which shares your IP address with Google.
- Google Analytics, if it is turned on for this site. It uses cookies, so where the law requires consent, it is only used after you agree in the cookie banner. You can say no and the tools work exactly the same.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
6. Why we use it (legal bases)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Usage statistics | To improve the tools and fix problems | Legitimate interests |
| Free download counter | To run the free plan fairly | Legitimate interests |
| Security logs | To keep the site and your account safe | Legitimate interests |
| Account and payments | To provide the plan you bought | Contract |
| Codes and team invitations | To give you the plan from your code, and to add the people you invite to your plan | Contract |
| Tax and accounting records | Because the law requires it | Legal obligation |
| Google Analytics cookies | To measure visits in more detail | Consent, where required |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have checked that they are not outweighed by your rights. The statistics are designed so that we never need to know who you are.
7. How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Your documents | Never received |
| Usage statistics and feedback | 13 months |
| Free download counter | 1 day |
| Account details | While your account is open, then up to 30 days |
| Payment and tax records | As long as tax law requires, usually 6 to 10 years |
| Emails | Up to 2 years after the conversation ends |
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States. Where information from the EEA or the UK goes to a country without an adequacy decision, we use the safeguards the law provides, such as the standard contractual clauses.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to it;
- send your information to you or another service in a common format;
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time.
Email contact@tickpdf.com and we will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first. Usage statistics cannot be linked to you, so we usually cannot find them; this is by design.
EEA and UK. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the authority in your country in the EU or the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK. We would appreciate the chance to help first.
California and other US states. You have the right to know, correct and delete your personal information, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer things about you.
10. Children
The service is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Keeping your documents on your device is the strongest protection there is: what we never receive cannot be leaked. For the little we do keep, we use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limited access and up-to-date software. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care and will tell you and the authorities if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email.
13. Contact
